Buxa Tiger Reserve

Established in 1983, the Buxa Tiger Reserve is set up at the North- Eastern corner of West Bengal. Its name is derived from the historic Buxa Fort, sited amidst the dense forest. This is a must-visit place as it has a great collection of orchids and medicinal plants.

Gorumara Wildlife Sanctuary

Characterized by tropical deciduous forests, this park is in the Dooars Region of the Jalpaiguri district. More than three hundred species of birds can be detected at Gorumara National Park such as scarlet minivet, Indian hornbill, woodpeckers, peafowls, pheasants, endangered Brahminy Duck, and many more. A few species of poisonous snakes, like Paithon and King Cobra can also be found here. This place, is surrounded by green vistas to soothe your eyes.

Jaldapara Wildlife Sanctuary

Spread across the vast grassland with patches of riverine forests, the Jaldapara Wildlife Sanctuary is situated at an elevation of 61m. The park is home to the one-horned rhinoceros, an animal once threatened with extinction. It is also one of the few places in India where the Bengal Florican is sighted. Apart from these, other animals also dwell in this wilderness.
